This course is designed to help you understand basic accounting principles and procedures. The two major objectives are (1) preparation for a career in an accounting or any business-related field, & (2) preparation for personal uses of accounting in your everyday life.
Major concepts include how to perpetual business transactions, determine a business profit or loss, prepare financial reports and budgets, and analyze financial statements for personal and business decisions. You might also consider LaFollette’s Career Internship course (see Mr. Graham for details) for potential career employment opportunities. A Wisconsin state-sponsored Youth Apprenticeship program is also available.
*As a result of an articulation agreement with MATC, students (Grades 11-12) completing this course with a grade of C or better will receive “college, transcripted credit”, both high school and MATC college credit. By participating in the dual credit program, it enables you to make substantial progress toward your college degree before finishing high school. UW System Transfer Information System
